As part of the Newham Careers Cluster, NewVIc college developed a workshop filling gaps in staff’s understanding of apprenticeships. The session was planned in collaboration with Macfarlanes, a top city law firm. It was a great opportunity to showcase their new higher apprenticeship programmes.
15billionebp first introduced different apprenticeship levels, industries, and the apprenticeships levy. Volunteers from other apprenticeship providers also presented: Transport for London, Royal Air Force and Atos.
I've learnt a significant amount in today's session and I feel confident a bit more research will fill in the gaps in my knowledge.
We also worked with a smaller group of staff, all acting as tutors. This was a chance to reflect on current practice and plan how to inform students about the range of apprenticeships available.
Three apprentices were present, including Inderpal Lolay, a former NewVIc student.
