Over one week in May 2018, 127 students from NewVIc and four Newham Secondary schools took part in a fantastic workshop testing their engineering skills to build a scale model of a suspension bridge. This was a pilot programme in collaboration with Costain and NewVIc as part of the Newham Careers Cluster.
Volunteers from Costain, Skanska and the Institute of Chartered Engineers also supported students with their teamwork and problem-solving as they competed to build smaller bridges made from K’Nex.
