On 31st January 2018, Year 10 students from Cumberland School took part in an ‘All About You’ self-reflective workshop as part of their Junior Russell Group Programme, ably supported by volunteers from Clifford Chance and KPMG.
The 30 students from Cumberland School participated in a series of activities aimed at raising their self-awareness. A personality quiz provided insight into their own character, and the SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis opened their eyes to ways in which they could develop. The volunteers drew on their own experiences to provide non-judgemental support and encourage students in the tasks.
I will be able to set targets which mean something and also identify strengths and weaknesses.
Year 10 studentArmed with a greater understanding of self, students can make more informed and useful decisions for themselves as they make important educational and career-related choices over the coming years. The students will attend two more workshops in April and May, looking at different pathways open to them and taking part in quality one-to-one mock interviews with business volunteers.
