On Tuesday 27th March, Kingsford Community School’s Year 10 students took part in an employability event, supported by 18 business volunteers. Students were inspired by volunteers as they worked on skill identification, CV writing, and interviews skills.
I really thought the seminar about the CV was great and made me understand the importance of my CV
Year 10 StudentEach year Kingsford Community School take part in BOSS (building opportunities and skills seminars) Day in order to develop the skills and confidence of their Year 10 cohort. The students, who attend school in business attire, always impress school staff and volunteers with their behaviour and engagement.
Really powerful for me to experience the school environment. I wish my teenagers had been with me. The cultural diversity was powerful and quite inspiring.
Business VolunteerVolunteers from the Financial Conduct Authority, Legg Mason, and Deutsche Bank, amongst others, were impressed by the students as they developed essential employability skills through a series of three volunteer-led seminars. The students also enjoyed three dynamic drama performances, developed by our partners at Actorshop, which brought the important content of the seminars to life.
