On 25th April 2018 eight level three Engineering students spent an enlightening morning at London City Airport finding out about STEM jobs, including the exciting world of the detection and disposal of WW2 bombs!
Students learnt about networking and then put their skills into action, meeting LCY colleagues, from engineering managers, to diving experts.
I liked the diver's presentation and was even able to try on the helmet. It was useful to learn about the development plan for LCY.
A tour of the airport brought the development project closer to home. Students even got to try on a (30kg!) diving helmet.
Many thanks to Anna and Francesca for organising a great morning, as well as to the other volunteers from LCY and Bechtel for sharing their experiences.
