One week in January saw the Royal Air Force bring their STEM Roadshow to seven Newham Schools and over 2600 young people in Years 7-9.
From the physics of flight to the Coanda effect, virtual reality to experiencing the ear-splitting sound of a real jet engine, this presentation brought STEM to life in an interactive lecture. The school halls were transformed by putting up a huge rig and screen that made it safe to fly a drone.
Fantastically organised and fun…the best enrichment trip I have ever been on!
StudentAfter the show, colleagues from the RAF talked about their career journeys and answered questions. Topics ranged from gender roles in the RAF, to sport and working abroad.
15billionebp are grateful for our ongoing partnership with the RAF, which began with a Careers Cluster pilot trip to the RAF museum in Hendon in June.
